History

Study programs within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities have received accreditation based on the BAN-PT (National Accreditation Board for Higher Education) SK. Psychology Study Program based on BAN PT Decree No. 773 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred. / S / VII / 2015 accredited with rank B. Sociology Study Program based on SK BAN-PT No. 2339 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred / S / VII / 2017 accredited with rank A. Communication Studies Program based on SK BAN-PT No. 3110 / SK / Akred / S / XI / 2018 accredited with rank A.

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is part of the Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN). As part of the Higher Education of Islamic Religion, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities has a noble role in educating the nation's life and building an intellectual society based on the ideal values ​​of Islamic teachings. In detail, this role is emphasized in article 16 of the Decree of the Minister of Religion Number 3 of 2003 concerning the Statute of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, where the main task of the University is to organize higher education, research and community service in the field of Islamic religious sciences and other sciences.

As part of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is obliged to carry out some of the university's duties, particularly in developing and integrating social and human sciences with Islamic religious sciences. In this regard, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities must organize academic activities in the social sciences and humanities (Psychology, Sociology and Communication Sciences) in the UIN Sunan Kalijaga environment.
