About Us

MoGA institute is formerly known as Pusat Pengembangan Ilmu Sosial dan Humaniora (PPISH) / Social Sciences and Humanities Development Centre, which is formed in 2010 by lectures at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The transformation of PPISH to MoGA Institute is based on the needs to develop the center to include broader audiences as well as to create a more concern to a praxis level. It also provides more opportunity for MoGA institute to actively makes contributions in creating a better life of Muslim community.


We provide database on Muslim communities for the purpose of education (academic research). Hundreds of Thesis and Dissertations can be accessed to support any research projects regarding Muslim communities around the world, particularly in Southeast Asia.

We provide experts on several issues concerning the existence of Muslim communities, such as: politics and religious identity, diaspora society, community assistance and development, literacy, public policy, minority, ecology, family, and demography.

Since 2010, we have been cooperated with various institutions to conduct seminars, workshops, and trainings, such as: DPRD across Java (2013-2015); Indonesian Consortium of Social Sciences and Humanities (2015); Western Sydney University (2015); Jamaah Ahmadiyah Indonesia (2016); Flinders University (2016); Georg August University, Geottingen Germany (2016); SOAS University of London (2016); Science Po Aix, French (2017) and Senior Expert Service, Bonn, Germany (2017)
