Inauguration of Green Force Fishum Team by Dean of FISHUM and WR2 UIN Sunan Kalijaga
The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM) UIN Sunan Kalijaga officially formed and launched the Green Force Fishum
The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM) UIN Sunan Kalijaga officially formed and launched the Green Force Fishum team as part of the faculty's commitment to supporting sustainability and environmental awareness programmes. This inauguration was carried out directly by the Dean of FISHUM, Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi, M.Si and Vice Rector 2, General Administration, Planning and Finance, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Dr. Mochamad Sodik, S.Sos, M.Si, in an event that took place on the campus of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.
The Green Force Fishum team was formed as a concrete effort to increase environmental awareness and action among students, lecturers, and education staff. The programme includes environmental campaigns, 3R-based waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), campus greening, and collaboration with environmental communities in Yogyakarta.
In her speech, the Dean of FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Dr Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi, M.Si. said that this initiative is a strategic step in building an academic culture based on environmental awareness. ‘With the Fishum Green Force Team, we hope that the entire academic community will be more aware of the importance of protecting the environment and participating in real actions of sustainability,’ she said.
Vice Rector 2, General Administration, Planning, and Finance, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Dr Mochamad Sodik, S.Sos., M.Si., also appreciated FISHUM's step in forming this team. According to him, the existence of Green Force Fishum can be an example for other faculties in integrating sustainability values in academic and social activities on campus.
As a first step, the Green Force Fishum team will run a ‘Green Campus Movement’ programme that includes environmental education for new students, the creation of a waste bank, and greening activities around campus. The team also plans to collaborate with various parties, including government agencies and non-profit organisations, to expand the impact of this movement.
With the presence of Green Force Fishum, it is hoped that UIN Sunan Kalijaga will increasingly contribute to building a sustainable and environmentally sound academic ecosystem. The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is committed to continuing to develop this programme so that it can benefit the campus and the wider community.
