In order to improve the quality of education that is oriented towards achieving graduate competencies, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM), State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held an activity “Socialization of the Outcome Based Education (OBE) System” in the Conference Room, 1st Floor FISHUM.

The activity which took place at 08.30 to 12.30 WIB presented two main speakers, namely Salim Athari, a representative of the Center for Information Technology and Database (PTIPD) UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and Khoirul Anwar, M.A., Head of Academic Affairs UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The event was attended by lecturers, education staff, and academic leaders from various study programs within FISHUM.

Salim Athari in his presentation emphasized the importance of utilizing digital technology in supporting the implementation of OBE in the era of digital transformation. “The implementation of OBE is not just a matter of changing the curriculum, but also about how we utilize technology to ensure the learning process is more effective, measurable, and relevant to the needs of the times,” he said.

Meanwhile, Khoirul Anwar, M.A., explained that the OBE system is a strategic step to produce graduates who are not only academically superior, but also have competencies that match the needs of the job market. “OBE emphasizes clear and measurable learning outcomes. This helps students understand what they are achieving, as well as helping institutions ensure their graduates are in line with the needs of the global community,” said Khoirul Anwar.

The event also became an interactive discussion forum, where participants actively asked questions and shared ideas related to the implementation of OBE in their respective study programs. The discussion is expected to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the implementation of OBE at UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of UIN Sunan Kalijaga continues to be committed to integrating the Outcome Based Education approach into the learning process in order to produce competent, creative, and innovative graduates.
