FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Bank Syariah Indonesia Sign Cooperation Agreement on Human Resource Development through Education and Payroll Services

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening human resource capacity through the signing of a cooperation agreement with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). The event took place at the Interactive Center Room, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga, on 7 April 2026. On this occasion, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga was represented by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, while BSI was represented by Desy Septianie, Branch Manager of KCP Ambarukmo, and Hari Nopa Kurniawan, Area Manager for Yogyakarta.

The signing of this agreement marks a strategic step in strengthening collaboration between a higher education institution and an Islamic financial institution, particularly in supporting human resource development through educational pathways and the enhancement of payroll services. This partnership is expected not only to expand institutional cooperation, but also to generate tangible benefits for the academic community and to reinforce the quality of institutional services.

Through this collaboration, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga and BSI seek to build a partnership framework oriented toward the development of human capital as a key institutional asset. Education remains a central pathway for cultivating competence, integrity, and competitiveness in response to increasingly dynamic social change. In this context, the partnership with BSI is expected to open broader opportunities for academic support, financial literacy, and the strengthening of a sustainable educational ecosystem.

At the same time, the payroll component of the cooperation reflects a commitment to improving efficiency, convenience, and professionalism in administrative services. A payroll system integrated with an Islamic banking institution can contribute to the modernization of institutional governance, while also providing more orderly, secure, and responsive financial services in accordance with institutional needs. In this regard, the agreement carries not only symbolic value but also operational and strategic significance.

Representing FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri emphasized that collaboration with external partners is an essential part of institutional strengthening in responding to the challenges of contemporary higher education. In her view, universities cannot work in isolation when seeking to develop excellent human resources; rather, they must establish productive partnerships with various stakeholders, including financial institutions that are committed to empowerment and sustainability.

This cooperation with BSI also reflects FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s continuous efforts to promote institutional innovation that is relevant to present-day needs. Strengthening human resources through education requires the support of a solid ecosystem, while service governance such as payroll demands professional and reliable systems. For this reason, the partnership is regarded as fully aligned with the faculty’s vision of becoming an adaptive, collaborative, and service-oriented academic institution.

From BSI’s perspective, this cooperation demonstrates the commitment of Islamic banking to contribute to the development of education and the improvement of institutional services. As a financial institution grounded in sharia principles, BSI is not only concerned with banking services, but also with supporting social development through partnerships that generate long-term impact. Its support for human resource strengthening through education illustrates how the financial sector can directly contribute to the development of future generations.

The signing ceremony also underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration in building educational institutions that are more resilient and responsive. Higher education institutions bear the mandate to foster intellectual quality and character formation, while strategic partners such as BSI can strengthen the systemic support needed for both human resource development and institutional service improvement.

FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga warmly welcomed the partnership as part of its broader effort to expand institutional networks and strengthen faculty capacity in a sustainable manner. Going forward, this cooperation is expected to develop into a range of concrete programs that will provide positive impact for both the academic community and the overall governance of the faculty.

Through this agreement, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Bank Syariah Indonesia jointly reaffirmed their commitment to fostering productive collaboration aimed at strengthening human resources and supporting the improvement of professional, inclusive, and sustainable institutional services.
