Yogyakarta, November 20, 2024 - The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held a democratic election for University Senate Representatives 2024-2028. The election which took place in FISHUM aims to elect two representatives from the faculty who will join the membership of the University Senate.

The three candidates proposed in this election are:

1. Dr. Bono Setyo (Communication Science Study Program),
2. Maya Fitria, S.Psi., M.A. (Psychology Study Program), and
3. Achmad Uzair, S.IP., M.A., Ph.D. (Sociology Study Program).

The election process involved all permanent lecturers in FISHUM as voters. The election is carried out with a transparent and democratic mechanism, in accordance with university governance guidelines.

In her remarks, the Dean of FISHUM, Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi., M.Si., emphasized the importance of this election process to ensure faculty representation at the university level. “The University Senate is a strategic institution in academic decision-making and institutional policy development. Therefore, this election process is an important step to present representatives who are competent and able to voice the aspirations of FISHUM at the university level,” said Dr. Erika.

After an orderly voting, the final results of the election were announced with two candidates receiving the most votes. The two elected candidates will officially represent FISHUM as members of the University Senate for the upcoming period.

Goals and Expectations:

• Ensuring the representation of FISHUM in the formulation of strategic policies at UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
• Increase the contribution of the faculty in the academic development and overall governance of the university.

Election Results (tentative):

The announcement of the official results after the legalized count is witnessed by witnesses from each study program represented by the Head of Study Program. will be submitted through the dean's decision letter after the verification process is complete.
