FISHUM Holds ‘Meaningful Resilience’ Workshop to Strengthen Togetherness and Digital Resilience

YOGYAKARTA – The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta successfully organized a workshop and team-building event titled "Meaningful Resilience: Empowering Skills in the Digital Era." The event, aimed at enhancing the sense of togetherness within the FISHUM extended family while strengthening resilience in the digital age, was held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

A total of 59 participants, comprising lecturers, educational staff (tendik), and employees within FISHUM, attended the event. The agenda took place in two locations, commencing with a team-building session and jeep trip at the Glagah Beach Lagoon, Kulonprogo, followed by a workshop session at Joglo Resodinomo, Sleman.

The workshop was opened with remarks by the Dean of FISHUM, Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi., M.Si. In her address, she emphasized the importance of synergy among all elements of the faculty.

"Hopefully, this activity will strengthen FISHUM's togetherness, as essentially, FISHUM is one big family," stated Prof. Erika.

The core session featured a presentation by the Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance, Dr. Astri Hanjarwati, S.Sos., M.A., moderated by Ummu Samhah Mufarrihah, M.A.

In her presentation, Dr. Astri highlighted the challenges of adaptation amidst the digital transformation of the campus. She noted that lecturers and staff face various pressures, including professional and spiritual demands, digital stress, and work-life imbalance. Therefore, "Meaningful Resilience" becomes crucial. In this context, resilience is defined not merely as the ability to bounce back from pressure, but as the capacity to grow through values, reflection, and contribution.

One of the participants, Katrin Purnomo Sari, S.Psi., an academic staff member of the Psychology Study Program, expressed that the activity was highly meaningful in motivating participants to be more enthusiastic and resilient in facing work challenges. She highlighted the atmosphere of togetherness where all faculty elements united.

"It was exciting, harmonious, and enjoyable. Lecturers, staff, and leadership all mingled together," she said.

The warm event concluded in the afternoon. It is hoped that this activity will not only tighten cohesion but also foster a work climate that is more collaborative, empathetic, and resilient in facing the digital era, as FISHUM moves forward with greater maturity after more than two decades of existence.
