MedKom Small Talk “Life After Study” Invites FISHUM Postgraduate Students to Prepare for Academic and Professional Futures

The Master’s Program in Media and Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, will hold MedKom Small Talk under the theme “Life After Study” on Monday, 4 May 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIB, at the Multimedia Room.

This event is designed for postgraduate students of FISHUM, particularly students of the Master’s Program in Media and Communication, as a forum for sharing experiences and reflecting on life after completing graduate studies. Through this discussion, students are encouraged to explore possible pathways for academic development, research engagement, professional careers, and further study.

MedKom Small Talk will feature Dr. Fatma Dian Pratiwi, M.Si, Head of the Master’s Program in Media and Communication, and Fendi Widianto, an alumnus of the Communication Science Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, currently a researcher and Ph.D. candidate at Deakin University, Australia.

The theme “Life After Study” was chosen to address the needs of postgraduate students in planning their futures beyond university. For master’s students, graduate study is not only a space for advancing academic knowledge, but also an important stage for mapping professional directions, strengthening research capacity, and developing meaningful contributions through media and communication scholarship.

Through this event, the Master’s Program in Media and Communication, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga, seeks to strengthen an academic environment that supports students in navigating the transition after graduation. The forum also serves as an opportunity to foster closer connections among students, alumni, and the program management.
