The FISHUM delegation was led by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Rama Kertamukti, together with the initiation team for the establishment of the Professional Psychology Study Program. The team was led by Miftahun Ni’mah Suseno, S.Psi., M.A., Psychologist, with team members Handy Aulia Zharfani, M.Psi., Psychologist, and Krysna Yudy Nusantari, M.Psi., Psychologist.
The delegation was welcomed by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Psychology UNAIR, Pramesti Pradna Paramita, M.Ed.Psych., Ph.D, Psikolog, the Head of the Professional Psychology Study Program, Dr. Endah Mastuti, S.Psi., M.Si., Psychologist, and the Secretary of the Study Program. The meeting took place in a constructive academic atmosphere and focused on exchanging experiences related to the governance and implementation of professional psychology education.
In the discussion, Dr. Rama Kertamukti stated that the benchmarking visit was an important step in ensuring FISHUM’s institutional readiness to establish the Professional Psychology Study Program. He emphasized that the development of a professional study program requires more than administrative preparation. It also requires curriculum readiness, qualified human resources, a reliable quality assurance system, clear governance of professional practice, and strong partnerships with relevant institutions.
Dr. Endah Mastuti explained that professional psychology education requires continuity between academic strengthening, professional competence formation, ethical psychological services, and structured practical experience. She underlined the importance of preparing academic supervisors, professional supervisors, practice partners, competency evaluation systems, and sustainable learning governance so that the program can be developed on a strong academic and professional foundation.
Meanwhile, Miftahun Ni’mah Suseno noted that the benchmarking activity provided substantial input for the initiation team. She stated that the establishment of the Professional Psychology Study Program at FISHUM should be directed toward responding to society’s need for professional, ethical, and scientifically grounded psychological services. She also emphasized that the development of the program must carefully consider competency standards, academic integrity, professional ethics, and social benefit.
Through this benchmarking activity, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga gained valuable perspectives on professional education curriculum design, study program governance, resource readiness, quality assurance systems, professional practice management, supervision mechanisms, and partnership development with external institutions. The results of the visit will serve as important input for preparing academic documents and formulating strategic directions for the establishment of the Professional Psychology Study Program.
This benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Psychology UNAIR reaffirms FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s commitment to developing psychology education that is excellent, professional, relevant, and responsive to societal needs. Through this institutional learning process, FISHUM expects that the establishment of the Professional Psychology Study Program can be prepared in a careful, measurable, and accountable manner, while contributing meaningfully to the development of professional psychological services in Indonesia.
