Ahmad Dio Putra Fatikha Rizky Named Best Graduate of FISHUM and UIN Sunan Kalijaga

Ahmad Dio Putra Fatikha Rizky, a student of the Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, achieved an outstanding academic distinction at the Third Graduation Period of February, Academic Year 2025/2026. The graduate, with Student Identification Number 22107030124, was named both Best Graduate of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and Best Graduate of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

Ahmad Dio completed his study in 3 years, 4 months, and 26 days. This achievement reflects his academic consistency, discipline, and ability to complete his undergraduate studies with excellent results. His accomplishment was further strengthened by the selection of his thesis as the Best Thesis of FISHUM for the Third Graduation Period, Academic Year 2025/2026.

In his final project, Ahmad Dio conducted research entitled “The Influence of E-WOM through Viewing Interest on the Decision to Purchase Tickets for the Film Jumbo (A Survey of @moviemnfs Followers on X).” The thesis was supervised by Dr. Rama Kertamukti, S.Sos., M.Sn., with Lukman Nusa, M.I.Kom. and Latifa Zahra, M.A. serving as examiners.

Through this study, Ahmad Dio examined the role of electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) in shaping viewing interest and ticket-purchasing decisions among social media users. The research is highly relevant to the development of digital marketing communication, consumer behavior, and the role of social media platforms in the film industry. It also shows that digital conversations on social media are not merely spaces for opinion exchange, but can become significant factors in shaping audience consumption decisions.

Ahmad Dio’s achievement demonstrates that students of the Communication Studies Program at FISHUM are capable of producing academic works that respond critically to developments in media industries, popular culture, and digital consumer behavior. By examining the film Jumbo through the lens of E-WOM and viewing interest, his research highlights the importance of understanding the relationship between digital messages, online communities, and consumer decisions in the contemporary communication ecosystem.

In addition to Ahmad Dio, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga also recorded notable academic achievements from graduates of other study programs. From the Sociology Program, Siti Hajar Nur Aini, Student Identification Number 22107020021, completed a final project entitled “The Trap of Marriage is Scary: A Phenomenological Study of Marriage Decisions among Widows in Kalurahan Pleret, Pleret District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta.” This study explores the experiences of widowed women in interpreting the decision to remarry, including the personal, social, and cultural considerations surrounding that process. Using a phenomenological approach, the study demonstrates academic sensitivity toward women’s subjective experiences within complex social structures.

From the Psychology Program, Khodijah Zahra, Student Identification Number 22107010128, completed a final project entitled “The Relationship between Homesickness and Motivation with Qur’an Memorization Achievement among Santri.” This research examines the relationship between psychological conditions, motivation, and Qur’an memorization achievement. The study is significant for the development of educational psychology and the psychology of santri, particularly in understanding emotional and motivational factors that may influence learning achievement within Islamic boarding school environments.

Together, these three academic works reflect the broad contribution of FISHUM’s social sciences and humanities scholarship in examining contemporary social dynamics. Ahmad Dio’s study highlights digital marketing communication and media consumer behavior; Siti Hajar Nur Aini’s research addresses social issues related to women, marriage, and widowhood; while Khodijah Zahra’s work strengthens academic attention to the psychological aspects of santri and religious education.

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, extends its highest appreciation to these graduates for their dedication and achievements. Ahmad Dio’s distinction as Best Graduate of FISHUM and UIN Sunan Kalijaga, as well as the recipient of the Best Thesis Award of FISHUM, is expected to inspire other students to continue producing critical, contextual, and socially beneficial
