The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, held a BAN-PT Accreditation Form Review as part of its efforts to strengthen academic quality and prepare the Psychology Study Program for accreditation. The activity was held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. WIB, at the FISHUM Conference Room, 1st Floor.
The review session featured Prof. Seger Handoyo as the invited speaker. Prof. Seger Handoyo is a lecturer in Psychology at Universitas Airlangga. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universitas Airlangga, pursued his master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Universitas Indonesia, and later obtained his doctoral degree from Universitas Indonesia. His presence was expected to provide substantive, methodological, and strategic input for improving the accreditation documents of the Psychology Study Program.
During the forum, the Psychology Study Program team, together with faculty leaders, reviewed the accreditation documents, data completeness, the alignment between narrative statements and accreditation indicators, and the adequacy of supporting evidence. The review was also directed at ensuring that the accreditation documents do not merely fulfill administrative requirements, but are also able to present the quality achievements of the study program in a clear, measurable, and accountable manner.
The activity was attended by FISHUM leaders, including Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty; the Vice Deans, namely Ambar Sari Dewi, Ph.D. as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Dr. Astri Hanjarwati, M.A. as Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance; the Head of Administration, Dra. Enny Irroh; heads and secretaries of study programs within FISHUM; and lecturers from the Psychology Study Program. The participants also included representatives from the Psychology Study Program, the Master’s Program in Psychology, as well as lecturers and administrative staff involved in strengthening the accreditation documents.
The Head of the Psychology Study Program, Denisa Apriliawati, S.Psi., M.Res., stated that the accreditation form review served as an important momentum for the Psychology Study Program to revisit its academic achievements and governance. According to her, accreditation should not be understood merely as an administrative obligation, but also as a space for self-evaluation to ensure that psychology education has been implemented in accordance with quality standards, graduate user needs, developments in psychological science, and the increasingly adaptive demands of higher education services.
Denisa further emphasized that input from an external reviewer is essential so that the accreditation documents can be prepared in a more objective, reflective, and evidence-based manner. Through this activity, the Psychology Study Program seeks to strengthen the connection between its scientific vision, curriculum, graduate learning outcomes, lecturer profile, research, community service, student outputs, and quality assurance system. In this way, the accreditation form is expected not only to describe the activities of the study program, but also to demonstrate a quality culture that has been developed continuously.
Through this activity, FISHUM reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening a sustainable quality culture. Accreditation is not viewed solely as an external assessment process, but also as an institutional reflection to evaluate achievements, identify areas for improvement, and formulate strategies for enhancing the quality of education, research, community service, governance, human resources, and academic services.
The accreditation form review with Prof. Seger Handoyo also provided an important opportunity for the Psychology Study Program to gain an objective and constructive external perspective. The input from the speaker is expected to help the study program strengthen the alignment between its scientific vision, curriculum, graduate learning outcomes, lecturer profile, tridharma outputs, quality assurance system, and performance evidence relevant to accreditation standards.
The activity also highlighted the importance of the readiness of all faculty members in supporting the accreditation process. Collaboration among faculty leaders, study programs, lecturers, and administrative staff is a key factor in ensuring that the accreditation documents are prepared comprehensively, accurately, and in a way that reflects the actual academic quality of the program.
With the implementation of this review, the Psychology Study Program of FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga is expected to be better prepared for the BAN-PT accreditation process. This activity also forms part of the faculty’s continuous effort to build academic governance that is adaptive, accountable, and oriented toward the improvement of higher education quality.
