FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga Equips Prospective Graduates of Period IV for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, held a briefing program for prospective graduates of Period IV of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the FISHUM Interactive Center, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The program formed part of the faculty’s efforts to prepare prospective graduates for the transition from academic life to the world of work and professional life.

The event opened with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi., M.Si. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of such a briefing as a forum for strengthening graduates’ readiness to navigate the various changes and challenges they may encounter after completing their university education.

The briefing featured three speakers: Noor Saif M. Mussafi, Ph.D., Nur Fitriyani Hardi, M.Psi., and Fajar Nuraini DF, M.Psi., Psychologist. The three speakers offered complementary perspectives on graduates’ readiness to enter the next stage of life, including personal development, psychological preparedness, and the ability to adapt to professional environments.

During the program, prospective graduates were encouraged to recognize their own competencies, develop professional attitudes, and strengthen their adaptability amid an increasingly dynamic world of work. University graduates are expected not only to possess academic competence but also to demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and self-development.

Psychological readiness was also an important focus of the briefing. The post-graduation period may bring both opportunities and uncertainties, ranging from job searching and career development to pursuing further education and determining future directions for personal growth. Accordingly, the ability to manage expectations, approach each process realistically, and maintain resilience constitutes an important asset for graduates.

The discussion, moderated by Ummu Samhah Mufarrihah, M.A., provided participants with an opportunity to gain insights from the speakers and reflect on the various challenges they may face after becoming alumni.

Through the Briefing Program for Prospective Graduates of Period IV of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga hopes that prospective graduates will not only be prepared to participate in the graduation ceremony but will also be better equipped to enter post-university life. The academic knowledge and skills acquired during their studies are expected to be further developed through adaptive, professional, and responsible attitudes, accompanied by a commitment to making positive contributions to society.

The program also reaffirmed FISHUM UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s commitment to supporting students through the final stages of their education and preparing graduates to apply their knowledge and competencies across diverse areas of professional and social life.
