The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM) at
UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta recently held the Pre-Graduation Briefing for
Period I of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The event took place at the
Interactive Center on the 1st Floor of the FISHUM building on Monday, November
10, 2025. Running from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB, the program aimed to equip
soon-to-be graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the
professional world.
This briefing serves as a pivotal moment for students
approaching graduation. It goes beyond technical understanding, addressing the
mental and social readiness required to enter the workforce. The event was
designed to prepare prospective graduates for various professional challenges,
ranging from stress management to effective career-building strategies.
Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi., M.Si., Dean of
the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, opened the event with an
inspiring address. In her remarks, she reminded the audience that academic
knowledge alone is insufficient; mental readiness and adaptability are also key
to success in a dynamic working environment.
The briefing was divided into two insightful sessions. The
first session was led by Dr. Benny Herlena, S.Psi., M.Si., a lecturer from the
Psychology Study Program, who provided insights into the importance of
psychological readiness. Dr. Benny explained that strong mental resilience is
essential for facing the pressures and challenges awaiting graduates.
“The professional world is full of dynamics and change.
Mental readiness is the primary aspect to prepare before entering it,” stated
Dr. Benny at the beginning of the session.
In the second session, Muhamad Rashif Hilmi, S.Si., M.Sc., a
lecturer from the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, presented on career
development in the digital era. Rashif shared insights on leveraging technology
to enhance careers and the importance of building professional networks.
“The ability to adapt to digital technological advancements
is key to facing current workforce challenges. Do not just follow the flow, but
be a pioneer,” Rashif asserted with conviction.
The activity received a highly positive response from the
prospective graduates. Siti Nur Aisyah, a participant from the Communication
Science Study Program, remarked, “This briefing really broadened my perspective
on the working world. I feel more prepared to face these challenges, and I
gained many useful tips for developing my career after graduation.”
