YOGYAKARTA – The Faculty
of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga successfully
convened a strategic academic development session, the Lecturer Scholarly
Writing Workshop, held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in the FISHUM Multimedia
Room. Centered on the theme “Media and Communication Research within a
Social Science Perspective,” the event was designed to bolster the capacity
of faculty members to produce high-quality scholarly work that contributes to
research-based social science development.
The workshop was officially
opened by the Dean of FISHUM, Prof. Dr. Erika Setyanti Kusumaputri, S.Psi.,
M.Si. In her opening remarks, she underscored the vital role of research as the
backbone of academic progress.
“We encourage our faculty members
not only to be productive in their writing but also to address contemporary
societal issues through the lens of social science and communication
approaches,” Prof. Erika stated to the attendees.
The session featured two key
resource persons: Very Julianto, M.Psi., who discussed psychosocial approaches
in research destined for reputable international journals, and Dr. Andri
Rosadi, M.Hum., who focused on the methodological rigor required for publishing
articles in accredited national and international journals.
The workshop was attended by
lecturers from FISHUM’s Master’s programs, who engaged in a lively and
interactive session. Beyond theoretical frameworks and sharing research
experiences, the participants discussed common challenges in academic
publishing and strategies for navigating high-impact indexed journals.
This initiative underscores
FISHUM’s commitment to cultivating a robust academic culture and encouraging
active faculty participation in national and global scientific publications.
The Faculty plans to hold similar events regularly as part of its long-term
strategy to strengthen a research-based academic ecosystem.
